Introduction :-

This interesting place with its picturesque bathing ghats is a good stop on the way from Mumbai to Aurangabad. Nashik stands on the bank of Godavari river,one of the holiest rivers of the Deccan.Like Ujjain ,this one is is one of the sites for the triennial Kumbh mela which comes here once in every 12 years.The riverbanks are lined with steps above which stand many temples & shrines.Common languages spoken & followed are Marathi,Gujrati,Hindi,English. The city roads are dominated by two wheelers primarily though one can also find many autorickshaws,taxis & sumos alongwith private & public transport buses.The city is well equipped with deluxe star hotels as well as moderate ones for lodging & boarding purposes,the local markets are full with handikrafts,embroidery sarees,as well as silken products.

Though the Nashik road station is located about 6 to 8 kms outskirts of Nashik town it has number of trains express & passengers running through it & is properly connected to Mumbai ,Pune ,Aurangabad


By Road :
Nashik is connected by road to all important cities,towns & other important places in Maharashtra. Many private luxury video coach buses run on daily buses to & fro between Nashik & Pune, Shirdi, Aurangabad, Mumbai.The Maharashtra State Transport buses also connect Nashik to nearby & distant places.
